Indonesian Breakfast, Indonesia

The neighborhood teenage girls and boys we mentor usually don't eat until noon. Many of them have complained about feeling sick to their stomach, as well as feeling light-headed and weak. They have also mentioned that it's hard for them to focus on the lessons being taught at school, and we suspect this is mainly due to not eating enough. Several of them have already dropped out of school before, and are vulnerable to dropping out again. Breakfast isn't provided for them at home, so we are raising funds to provide it for them. Thanks to Dollar-a-Day, we have been running this program for two years now. Two local shops have been working with us to make the breakfast, and the girls (25 of them) and boys (3 of them) can pick it up on their way to school with a coupon provided.

*Note: funds given to Indonesian Breakfast this year will be used to support children in their after-school program. A kind donor has agreed to pay for all the breakfasts for the coming year but the ministry has shared that their after-school tutoring program is still in need of funds. Thank you for your gifts!
