Ministries

Mozaik Lushjne in Albania

Mosaik Church’s core vision is to focus on poor families, many of whom come from Gypsy Roma communities.  It is a diverse church where you see different communities coming together to worship Jesus with all they have. We would love for you to come visit us! We serve our community through various ministries such as after school programs and home visits. The Roma community face a lot of challenges, the schools are segregated and the children face bullying which is why they do not like attending schools. As a church we are planting a new church near Lushnje, a village named Saver. Where the neighborhood is poor and in a lot of need for Jesus.

Indonesian Breakfast, Indonesia

The neighborhood teenage girls and boys we mentor usually don't eat until noon. Many of them have complained about feeling sick to their stomach, as well as feeling light-headed and weak. They have also mentioned that it's hard for them to focus on the lessons being taught at school, and we suspect this is mainly due to not eating enough. Several of them have already dropped out of school before, and are vulnerable to dropping out again. Breakfast isn't provided for them at home, so we are raising funds to provide it for them. Thanks to Dollar-a-Day, we have been running this program for one year now, and we have about one month of funds remaining. Two local shops have been working with us to make the breakfast, and the girls (25 of them) and boys (3 of them) can pick it up on their way to school with a coupon provided. We need about $2,700 to run this program for one year. Thanks for considering giving towards breakfast for these teenagers.

Funco - Fundacien un Nuevo Comienzo (Found a New Beginning), Colombia

We have been serving for 11 years. Our intention is to SHOW GOD’S LOVE WITHOUT SPEAKING. In the communities God has called us to, our mission is to assist in the development of children and youth from vulnerable communities. Bringing both love and education we help children understand their purpose, strengthen their self-esteem and become citizens committed to social welfare. Through the pandemic we have been able to expand our reach to include Venezuelan migrant families and Colombian returnees. We were grateful to qualify for a Humanitarian Project Grant in the pandemic through Tearfund Colombia. Through this opportunity we were able to join vaccination initiatives, help pregnant women and provide training etc. We love what we do and love sharing about it with others like you! There is so much to do in our communities and we are grateful to work with what we have to make a difference.

Friendship Market, Canada

The Friendship Market was born out of a handful of prayerful friends seeing many folks in our neighborhood struggling with food security, and asking God "how can we be a part of your Jubilee?" - His plan for freeing slaves.

Many of our neighbors are newcomers from countries such as South Sudan, Somalia, Syria, and Myanmar. Many of them are just beginning to learn English, do not have a car, are finding employment and have many children. Our Patch has found an opportunity to partner with a handful of women and children who take pride and ownership of our weekly fruit market. We take regular surveys, pitch a tent and table, and display the fresh fruit and veggies they've asked for every Sunday outside our apartment building.  We believe the love of Jesus is using this opportunity to disciple and transform us all by meeting practical needs through relationship building.

Student Sponsorship Program in Butuan City, Philippines

This program focuses on the three youth who are also the persons of peace in our patch. They shared with us recently that they have a desire to continue their studies but are financially unstable. They all have no fathers and their mothers’ work is also not enough to support their studies. We desire not only to be a channel of blessings to these youths but also an instrument for them to give their lives to God as they have heard the gospel many times before but weren’t followed up. We aim to use this financial assistance to disciple them for Christ. We will meet them every week to give their allowances (for fares, school projects, etc) and study the word of God with them in their houses with their family members as well.

We are praying that this initiative will help us to engage more in their lives and in the patch.

Kids Kapers, CANADA

Kids Kapers has been serving children in Movein patches for 17 years now. We have developed a Biblically centered program for children from different faith backgrounds in a child-friendly, camp setting. It allows Moveiners to build bridges with families in their community by building trust as we lovingly care about their children.
Kids Kapers sees itself as a servant ministry by preparing curriculum for Movein teams that has been tested over the years. We offer a training day to prepare each location wishing to offer camp. We love to provide and share tools, craft materials, equipment for games, decor as available, and mentoring and encouragement to teams reaching out to the children in their community.
Gifts received will help Kids Kapers to keep expanding in serving more teams both in Canada and even globally if needed. This year we were able to serve 8 communities.

MARTINDALE AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAM, CANADA

MoveIner's in Martindale, Calgary have initiated a weekly after-school program through their local community association and at their local school. The goal is to establish and deepen relationships with kids in their patch from Grades 7-9. In the first three months more than 120 unique kids attended with more than 70 coming on a weekly basis by the end of June!

We created a safe space in the community for kids to hang out with friends and play sports like volleyball and basketball. They also come into contact with believers who care about them and want to know them. The program also acts as a catalyst for inviting kids and their families to other community events.

The program offers free snacks to the kids, as well as occasional special celebration meals. We're also required to purchase our own sports equipment and other supplies. We expect to spend around $2,000 this upcoming school year.

EDMONDS COMMUNITY MEALS, CANADA

Based on last year’s successful outreaches, we’ve once again hosted bi-weekly summer BBQs in partnership with a local church, Every Nation Vancouver. The church provides the halal BBQ and we provide side dishes and our yard. We are very encouraged by the turn out each time. We often host Palestinian, Iraqi, Syrian, Yemeni, Uyghur, and Uzbek neighbours. Many purposeful, direct conversations about Jesus have been happening.

We want to build on this event over the winter, continuing our community meals in an indoor venue. Our conversations have also led to a clear awareness of the struggles many of our neighbours face, and we want to add a support group.

Our current expenses are about $50 an event but the costs will rise as we move to an indoor venue. The church's budget is also being cut, meaning we will carry more of the future expenses ourselves. We're currently trying to plan within a $200/mo budget.

TABANG FOR STUDENTS, Philippines

Seeing students striving hard to earn money for their survival and for their school projects touches our hearts. So, Tabang (help) for the students was born to help youngsters to fulfill and achieve their goals in a little way. These students have big dreams in their academic life and goals to finish their studies and help their family and community. Some of them are far away from the capital town of the province with approximately 20-24 hours wooden boat travel. This program helps the students overcome these obstacles. The funds will be utilized for their school supplies, transportation, and school projects.

Forming a generation with principles and values, Petare, Caracas- Venezuela

Petare is by far the most dangerous neighborhood in Caracas. Crime, drugs, alcohol, prostitution, violence, and poverty are prevalent throughout the entire community. This has led the team to focus on educating children and young people to have a different mindset.

Our project aims to raise a generation living out principles and values that help us be good citizens. Every Saturday our teams minister in different areas of Petare. We want to educate our community’s children and young people to know that living here should not be the reason to follow a dangerous path of sin. They can make a difference in our community if they are willing to change their preconceived mentalities.

Though it has not been an easy process, we have seen the fruit of this hard work. Thanks to God and the perseverance of the team, there are already young people who have decided to be professionals and are attending college! Others have recently graduated from high school. This motivates us to continue with this beautiful assignment.

We take care of about 350 children and adolescents. We don’t want to just give them words, so we also provide these precious children with  nutritious lunches. We have been doing this every Saturday, but it is becoming a little difficult for us. We come to you now because we need your help to continue this project for the sake of our children. We hope you can join us in this mission to see a generation with principles and moral values rise up in Petare. God bless!

DÄRFÖR, SWEDEN

We believe that in order to build a strong society we need to have strong families and our newly started project is one step in that direction. The project is called DärFör (Therefore) - to be There For one another. We started a year ago and have done three events so far but would like to do more. DärFör is a three hour event evening event on a school for the families that have kids on that school. At the moment we are doing it on the schools in the areas with lots of immigrants. The evening starts with a meal together. Then we have an introduction to the theme of the day with a drama and a song or two. Then the stations start. We have around 20 different stations that the families go to as a family and have a team building challenge together. On every station there is a person who leads that station. Funds would go toward buying equipment for new stations, making the website and buying thank you presents for the volunteers.

SMARTYES, Germany

Our aim is to support kids and parents in their unique life situations as well as provide intercultural experiences. We desire that kids and adults would find hope and peace in Jesus Christ. Most of the children we work with come from disadvantaged backgrounds and are often migrants. Our program is respectful of all backgrounds as we try to show God's love. We have a diverse and colourful program including helping with schoolwork as well as free time for playing and being creative. Every Sunday we conduct a service for children with playing, singing and telling Bible stories. Furthermore, we love to celebrate different occasions with children and their families (e.g. mother's day), which helps to get to know each other and build relationships. On holidays we offer special programs for the children - this allows for a meaningful way for them to spend their time rather than being on their own all day. Funds go towards holiday programs.

Please note that SMARTYES will not be needing funding this year. We appreciate your continued prayers for the ministry.

Footprints of Love, Venezuela

This ministry is in El Peñon, a poor community where many vulnerable families live. It is being run by a group that have been a part of MoveIn for 2 years.

We are running a Bible School for children in our neighborhood every Saturday morning. We share biblical teachings, music, recreational games, handicrafts and food. Our vision is to teach biblical fundamentals to preschool and school age children through intentional studies and didactic activities that will leave footprints on their hearts. We aim to raise up young disciple makers, follow up with whole families, share Jesus’ message of Salvation in a relatable way, and help the children develop practical life skills. We also meet their physical needs by providing breakfast and lunch.

The current economic situation in our country makes it difficult to cover the cost of games, craft supplies, and the food that we give out. We also need teaching materials for our leaders and students.

Thanks for leaving your footprint of love on our ministry. God bless you!

Chickens for hope, Venezuela

This project is headed up by a MoveIner in La Matica, Cumana, Venezuela. He has been a part of Mudate for a year.

My community is one of the most vulnerable and marginalized neighbourhoods in Cumaná. One of the most acute problems is school dropout due to lack of food at home.

I have been raising laying hens and broilers locally in the community as part of a food strategy to help ease this problem. The chickens are raised for two and a half months. Half of them will be used to prepare lunches and dinners for the children and adolescents who attend the schools. The other half is sold to buy more chicks and support the project for the long term. In the case of the laying hens, half the eggs are used to provide breakfast for the school children and half of them are used to buy new pullets to continue production for many years.

We are praying this healthy, high quality food source provides a small, local solution to food instability. Our hope is that this helps some of our neighbours complete school.

Serve the City.png

SERVE THE CITY, Portugal

Serve the City is a global movement of volunteers showing kindness in practical ways to people in need. We partner with homeless shelters, refugee centres, orphanages, and other associations, offering help and support. Serve the City creates events that mobilize many volunteers to serve in simple ways – sports, music, arts and crafts, meals, friendship and more. We are the connection between the good intentions and talents of people who could volunteer and a meaningful opportunity to get involved. In response to increased needs from Covid-19 we have started several new initiatives including:

1 - Friendship Online: reaching out to elderly and lonely people in isolation via phone and social media every week.

2 - Change Academy: helping people in long term and new unemployment situations, journeying together with volunteers towards employment and regular occupation through community workshops.

3 - Emergency Homeless Shelters: where volunteers work 24/7 shifts to serve 200+ homeless people in 4 different centres.

Funds go towards securing our continued and sustainable operations in service to the city and new initiatives in response to local and national-level needs.

More values, More life - Ezra Project, Venezuela

“From dawn until noon, Ezra read the book of the law in the square in front of the Water Gate. All the men and women who were listening paid close attention to the reading of the book.” Nehemiah 8:3

Valle Verde is a community of very limited economic resources,  where a MoveIn family is running a Children's Discipleship program. They would like to expand it into a language program.

We have observed with concern that there is a considerable number of children and adults in the community who do not know how to read and write. This limits their access to the Truth of God manifested in the Scriptures, the knowledge of which provides them with freedom. We decided to implement a literacy program aimed at children, youth and adults who do not know how to read and write, using the Word of God as the basis of our life-changing curriculum.

We also offer a meal or snack before the beginning of each class. Many children do not eat well at home and we find this can hinder their academic growth. We plan to hold these classes in small groups based on age three times a week. We are currently in talks to borrow or rent a space that we can set up with tables, chairs and an area to gather the students. We have a donation of notebooks and pencils to start, but we need more supplies including Bibles, teaching and classroom resources, and food for meals.

BEYOND THE WHITE FIELDS HOUSE: LOMAS DE BELLAVISTA, CHILE

“Do you not say, "There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest"? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields already white for harvest”. John 4:35 - NKJV

This ministry is run by a lady who has been connected with Mudate for 3 years. She lives in "Lomas de Bellavista" of Villa Alemana, Chile.

My objective with this project is to share the Gospel with the children by providing Bible classes alongside outreach activities like delivery of snacks, provision of clothing and interpersonal relationships with members of the community. As I learn about and meet my neighbour’s most immediate needs, I’m able to bring the love of God to the most vulnerable places and show Jesus is close to them and with them impacting our community.

We have a group of about fifteen children who meet every Saturday. Currently five teachers share responsibilities like preparation of snacks, leading the lesson, conducting recreational activities and caring for children. Parents usually stay and watch, which gives us an opportunity to establish interpersonal relationships with them and learn more about each family in our community.

Currently, we are doing our activities in an empty  local field. There is no building, no toilets, and no drinking water, so we transport snacks and water each time. Once in a while we can borrow folding tables and chairs, but usually children and parents stand or sit on tires. Our greatest need is to have our own supplies, along with a canopy that can protect us from the sun. Thank you for your generosity!

Children’s food kitchen, El Salvador

Tutunichapa is a high-density community within San Salvador. It has been beset by vandalism, drug trafficking and other types of illicit practices for decades, which has contributed to generational poverty and unhealthy lifestyles. Thank God, recent reforms within El Salvador’s judicial system have improved the living conditions and created opportunities to share the gospel to the next generation. As God uses MovIners to help break these cycles, here is a growing opportunity shared by a team member.

One local believer felt a burden to begin a sports ministry with local children and speak into their lives. Several brothers from other churches joined him and together we established a vision to bring the Gospel to local children. This led to a non-denominational partnership, where Jesus’ love is shared with children five to fifteen years old through local Bible classes.

We started by offering a small snack but as time went on, we noticed the need to provide more food. There was a very positive response to this initiative, and now every Tuesday we have classes for each age group followed by a shared dinner. We have at least thirty-five children every week.

Our dinners typically consist of beans, eggs, sausage, cream bread and a drink. We are not supported by an institution, but rely on the provision of God and the gifts of people who have seen the impact of our work. In addition to the cost of food, we also want to provide more learning supplies for the children. Thank you for helping us break cycles of poverty in our community.
