Friendship Market, Canada

The Friendship Market was born out of a handful of prayerful friends seeing many folks in our neighborhood struggling with food security, and asking God "how can we be a part of your Jubilee?" - His plan for freeing slaves.

Many of our neighbors are newcomers from countries such as South Sudan, Somalia, Syria, and Myanmar. Many of them are just beginning to learn English, do not have a car, are finding employment and have many children. Our Patch has found an opportunity to partner with a handful of women and children who take pride and ownership of our weekly fruit market. We take regular surveys, pitch a tent and table, and display the fresh fruit and veggies they've asked for every Sunday outside our apartment building.  We believe the love of Jesus is using this opportunity to disciple and transform us all by meeting practical needs through relationship building.
